IAATO’s membership is comprised of more than 100 respected companies from across the world, each working to protect and preserve the unique place that is Antarctica. The director of operations will support this work by seeking ways for all IAATO-required or recommended polices, programs, and procedures to be incorporated effectively into tour operator work plans.
The position will also be responsible for the delivery of operational tools and programs, including IAATO’s Field Operations Manual, Polar Guide App and database, including Ship Scheduler, and will lead direct communications with the association’s members on matters related to operational practice and code of conduct.
Candidates must possess at least five years’ experience as field staff in a leadership role on board IAATO Antarctic vessels and more than two years of direct experience in dealing with IAATO, preferably on IAATO committees or working groups.
In addition, applicants should be able to work well under pressure, have excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
