High North Dialogue has released the first details for the 2026 conference. The event will take place at Radisson Blu in Bod on 22-23 April, and registration just opened.
The conference brings together students, researchers, business leaders, and policymakers to discuss developments in the High North. Next year?s program focuses on four themes that are important for the region: political influence, business development, resilience, and people.
"We want to highlight the issues people in the region talk about most", says Director at the High North Center, Andreas Raspotnik.
Who makes the decisions that affect the north? How do we create more jobs? How do we prepare for rapid change? And what makes people stay?

De gouverneur van Svalbard heeft een buitenlands vissersbedrijf een boete opgelegd voor het overtreden van diverse regels met betrekking tot de visserij in de wateren rond Svalbard.
Het buitenlandse vissersbedrijf en de schipper werden in augustus 2025 door de kustwacht betrapt op illegale visserij in de wateren rond Svalbard.
De gouverneur oordeelt dat het schip diverse regels heeft overtreden, waaronder vissen in Kongsfjorden, waar visserij verboden is; vissen in twee gebieden ten noorden en oosten van de archipel, waar visserij verboden is ter bescherming van kwetsbare mariene ecosystemen; en het niet naleven van de regels met betrekking tot het begin en einde van de visserij in de territoriale wateren van Svalbard en de beschermde visserijzone rond Svalbard.
