Scott Base is the hub of New Zealand's activities in Antarctica. Because of its remote location, it is essential that all staff employed to work at Scott Base work well as a team, are safety focused and can successfully integrate into the small base community lifestyle.
Each year seasonal staff are employed to keep the home fires burning at Scott Base. The majority of staff will work over the summer season from September to February. The remaining staff (12-15 depending on the season) winter over, spending a total of 13 months on ice until the following season's staff arrive.
Please be aware applications will not close until mid-March 2023. With upwards of 60 roles to recruit, timelines are longer than for a typical job. An update will be provided by approximately the end of April.
